Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2019, $384,754)

The goal of this project is for New Hampshire to become compliant with the required minimum sex offender registration and notification standards set forth in SORNA. The grant will support the creation of a SORNA working group with local law enforcement jurisdictions and the NHSP. In addition, the following tasks are identified: 1) to create an additional entry port to the NH Sex Offender Registry database created in 2018 that allows local jurisdictions to have an assigned portal that provides needed information; 2) to provide overtime to sworn troopers to complete review of noncompliant offender information and pending address verifications specifically on those offenders; and 3) to enhance the new database system that is being implemented to assist with the implementation of SORNA for the collection, storage and records management components of the SORNA data.
