FY 22 AWA Grant Program: Attorney General's Office of South Dakota

The South Dakota Sex Offender Registry will use grant funds to: 1) address the current DNA lab testing bottleneck by purchasing a genetic analyzer to improve efficiency in processing offender DNA samples; 2) improve technology and infrastructure regarding the collection, analysis, upload, and maintenance of offender DNA samples and profiles (this includes requests for 10,000 offender DNA collection kits); 3) purchasing two STRmix software licenses for the improvement of offender DNA reporting; and 4) continue providing a well-attended sex offender conference for all law enforcement agencies in South Dakota.
