Enhanced Sex Offender Registration Project

Texas Department of Criminal Justice Grantee (TDCJ) will utilize grant funds to hire a program specialist to oversee the registration process, deliver additional training to parole officers, collaborate with other criminal justice entities, and monitor the TDCJ’s Offender Absconder website to assist in the apprehension of sex offender absconders. The FY20 AWA funds will also support fringe; statewide travel and training of parole officers and unit supervisors who interact directly with sex offenders; supplies (computer, cell phones, etc.); and other costs, which include rental of space and programming hours.
